MORE men have been freed on bail after being arrested over a Huddersfield shooting.

Three men who were arrested on Wednesday morning in connection with a shooting in Bradford Road, Fartown, four days earlier have been released on police bail.

The men, aged 22, 28, and 33 and from the Huddersfield area, were all arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of a firearm over the incident on Saturday afternoon.

The shooting left four people injured, fortunately none seriously.

A total of 10 men have now been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident as specialist detectives continue their inquiries.

In another incident, a man was arrested by armed officers in Dewhurst Road, Fartown on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the incident was not directly linked to the Bradford Road shooting and that man has also been released on bail.

Det Chief Insp Adrian Taylor, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, is leading the investigation into the shooting at the Slick Cutz barber’s shop.

He said: “I want to stress that incidents such as this shooting, which was believed to be targeted, are extremely rare and that no stone is being left unturned to investigate the incident.

“Local neighbourhood policing officers have stepped up patrols in the area and members of the public should feel safe to go about their day-to-day business as usual”.
