COCAINE and a gun were found during a police raid in a village.
Officers from Kirklees Drug and Gun Crime Team carried out the raid at a house in Honley yesterday.
The raid – carried out on a warrant under the 1968 Firearms Act – saw police recover a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition. They also found a ‘‘significant amount’’ of Class A drug cocaine.
A 17-year-old youth, a woman of 41 and a 16-year-old girl were arrested for drugs and firearm offences.
The two women were later released without charge while the youth is still in police custody.
Sgt Damian Roebuck, of the Kirklees Drugs and Gun Crime Team, said: “This warrant was executed as a result of anonymous information received by the police. It highlights our commitment to tackle drug and gun crime.
“We would urge anyone who has any information on these types of crimes to contact the police or Crimestoppers so we can act on it as we have done here.”
