Police say they are increasingly concerned for the safety of a missing man.

Daniel France, a 38-year-old, single man, was last seen in Ravens Avenue, Ravensthorpe, at 4pm on Saturday, March 12. He left behind his phone and wallet.

He has not been seen since then or made contact with his family and police say such behaviour is completely out of character.

On Saturday members of Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team spent the afternoon searching Dewsbury Country Park for him.

And on Sunday a specialist police search team was busy combing Huddersfield Road, Broad Street, Crown Road and Scout Hill Road.

Det Insp George Bardell of Kirklees CID said: “He has not been seen since last Saturday so naturally we are anxious to find him.”

Daniel is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, with short, dark brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white and black K Swiss high-top trainers.
