ABOUT 30 protestors turned up outside Kirklees Magistrates Court in Huddersfield this morning as a case involved Azhar Ahmed got under way.

Ahmed, of Ravensthorpe, has been accused of using Facebook to post malicious comments following the death of six British soldiers - including three from Huddersfield - last March in Afghanistan.

Police had been warned of the protest and a large number of officers were on duty at the court building in Upperhead Row and in the town centre. Some of the demonstrators are from the English Defence League.
