FIVE men were arrested after drugs equipment and suspected heroin was seized in Kirklees.

The finds were made in Batley by the police's Kirklees District Drugs Team.

The five men, aged between 28 and 33, were arrested in connection with suspected drugs offences and taken to Dewsbury police station for questioning.

They were later released on bail, pending further inquiries.

Sgt Anil Shukla, of the drugs team, said: "Every day we are tirelessly gathering intelligence to remove drugs and suspected dealers from the streets of our communities.

"This is a painstaking and time-consuming process, which is helped enormously by information passed to us from members of the public."

And Sgt Shukla made a direct plea to people to keep the information coming.

He said: "Your information is invaluable and could help us to take action in your area.
