POLICE have seized 11 suspected cannabis plants from an industrial unit in Sowerby Bridge.

Police from Halifax also seized hydroponics equipment from a second industrial unit at the location off Rochdale Road on Sunday.

The plants have been sent for forensic analysis and inquiries are ongoing.

Sgt Andrew Carlin said: “We need the public to continue passing us information about suspected illegal drug activity.

“We ask people to keep us informed on anything suspicious in their local area and we will act on information that is passed to us.

“Where we suspect the illegal cultivation and supply of cannabis is taking place, we will take positive action to disrupt it.

“If anyone suspects someone is growing cannabis then they should call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the production of cannabis in Bradford, Huddersfield, South Yorkshire and the West Midlands.

He was arrested by the Metropolitan Police and charged with six offences of cannabis production.

He is believed to be linked to a cannabis farm discovered in Lidgett Green, Bradford, in January.
