TWELVE dog owners have been spoken to by police and dog wardens after not picking up their dog’s mess.

Police and Kirklees dog wardens teamed up for an evening patrol of the Dalton area last week and 12 people were spoken to and advised about the laws.

One person was spoken to about not having their dog on lead on a public highway.

Patrols were carried out in the Mereside, Standiforth, Church Lane, Dalton Estate, and Brown Royd Avenue areas

The Neighbourhood Policing Team is asking for people to report persistent dog foulers.
