POLICE are helping children get active this summer by organising a sports event.
The two-day Fun in Athletics event takes place at Salendine Nook High School.
It is open to children aged eight to 13 who will receive expert tuition from the Holmfirth Harriers athletics club.
Each year dozens of schoolchildren take part in the scheme, organised as part of the Summer Policing Plan to keep youngsters entertained and engaged in worthwhile activities.
The event takes place on July 29 and 30 between 10am and 3pm. The cost is £10.
