POLICE are still baffled by the mystery disappearance of a Holmbridge man more than three months ago.

Andrew Lawrence left his Brownhill Road home to go for a walk on November 29 last year - but never returned.

Now, police have made a fresh plea for information in a bid to solve the mystery.

The 58-year-old lives with wife Dorothy.

Just after 11.30am on the day he disappeared he went into the Londis store on Woodhead Road, Hinchliffe Mill.

He arranged to meet a friend in Holmfirth that teatime, but never showed up.

Mr Lawrence has never been missing before.

He loved walking on the moors and sometimes went off the usual tracks.

Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team, supported by teams from Woodhead, Oldham and the Calder Valley, have carried out major searches in the area.

The police helicopter was also involved in the days following his disappearance.

Mrs Lawrence has been supported over the last three months by friends and neighbours.

Mr Lawrence comes originally from Essex and has a southern accent.

Extensive inquiries have been made with family and friends, but they have drawn a blank.

A police spokeswoman said today: "Family and police continue to be concerned for Mr Lawrence's welfare.

"He has never done this sort of thing before and there is no reason for him to go missing."

Anyone with information should phone Huddersfield police on 01484 436659.
