DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Pc Sharon Beshenivsky have been given more time by magistrates to continue questioning a 24-year-old man.
Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah was arrested on Monday in Newport, south Wales, along with a 23-year-old man.
He will now be quizzed until at least this afternoon.
West Yorkshire Police said the 23-year-old has been released on police bail and transferred to the custody of the Metropolitan Police for questioning about unrelated offences.
Officers are continuing to search for Mustaf Jama, 25, who they want to question in connection with the shooting of Pc Beshenivsky and her colleague Pc Teresa Milburn, who was seriously injured in the same incident in Bradford on November 18.
He is believed to have links with Sheffield, Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester, although detectives say they are not ruling out the possibility that he could be anywhere in the country.
On Tuesday, detectives made a nationwide appeal for help to find Jama on BBC's Crimewatch programme.
Det Supt Andy Brennan, who is leading the investigation, said:
"It is vital we speak with this man as part of our inquiries."
Jama's brother Yusuf Jama, 19, has already appeared in court charged with murder.
