BADLY behaved World Cup revellers will get the yellow card from police.
Officers and nightlife marshals will be on the prowl as England play their first game against the United States on Saturday evening.
Yellow cards will be given as a warning to drinkers behaving in an antisocial way.
The card will also let them know their information has been passed to town centre CCTV operators.
Insp Adrian Waugh said: “When people receive the yellow cards, they will also be spoken to.
“If, however, people cross the mark with their behaviour, there will be no red card, only the prospect of being arrested.”
Police have also promised that people with football banning orders – including 26 Huddersfield Town fans – will be firmly dealt with if they breach the conditions of their ban.
The orders mean that in the build up to the tournament offenders have to surrender their passports to police.
They also have to report to their local police station on the day of every England match.
