Popular TV personality Harry Gration is to host the first ever Examiner schools awards, which will be held at Kirklees College on Thursday, July 7.

And time is starting to ebb away for those wanting to make nominations and the chance to meet Harry who is such a well-known personality on BBC’s Look North.

So now is the time to be telling us about your amazing schools to be in with a chance of winning either Nursery School of the Year, Primary School of the Year or Secondary School of the Year.

These awards aren’t just about academic achievement, they celebrate success in all areas of school life whether that be community engagement, charitable giving, extra curricular activities, competition success or an outstanding school culture.

Whatever your achievements, tell us about them and achieve the recognition you deserve for your hard work.

We also have categories to recognise exceptional school staff including school support staff, student teachers, inspirational teachers and headteachers.

A judging panel will decide on the finalists who will all be invited to the celebration lunch and awards ceremony with Harry on Thursday, July 7.

Two of the category sponsors are Kirklees Council and children’s social care provider Pivot which was classed as outstanding last December.

Kirklees College is sponsoring the Secondary School of the Year and a spokesman said: “We are delighted to sponsor this award which celebrates our colleagues in secondary schools who provide a foundation for our students and help us to support them in their goals towards their chosen career.”

Primary School of the Year is sponsored by Pivot Care which has a proven track record for supporting whole school improvement and providing therapeutic residential care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
