HOUSEHOLDERS are in the dark over 13 power cuts in just 11 months.
Streets in parts of Almondbury have suffered 47 hours without electricity since last June.
But Philip Scott, who lives in Highlands Avenue, said the blackouts had been happening for more than five years .
The father-of-two said: "It is ridiculous the amount of times we have lost power.
"I asked YEDL (Yorkshire Electricity Distribution Limited) if we were going to get some kind of rebate, but they said because they do not send out the bills it was not up to them .
"I can't believe the amount of times we have had to get the candles out."
But a spokesman for YEDL said the problem had now been repaired.
"We apologise to our customers in the Highlands Avenue area who have experienced problems with their power supplies," he said .
"The interruptions to supplies were caused by an intermittent fault with a low voltage underground cable. This type of fault makes it very difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the faulty section of underground cable.
"Our investigations identified that we needed to carry out excavation work in Northgate to complete repairs to the affected section of cable .
"In order to minimise disruption in this area, our engineers carried out the repair work required on Sunday, May 8.
"We would like to reassure our customers that every effort was made to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."
