A HUDDERSFIELD family waited for news today as top-level talks continued in the Iran hostage crisis.

The parents and relatives of Leading Seaman Chris Coe, of Dalton, were anxiously waiting for news from Tehran.

Mr Coe, 31, is one of the 15 British naval and Royal Marine hostages seized by Iran.

His family released their favourite photo of Mr Coe as they listened to news from Iran.

More top-level talks took place during the night between senior Iranian officials and British diplomats, amid hopes that the stand-off over the military personnel captured by Iran could be ended.

Syria said today it was mediating in the dispute.

And politicians said they hoped they could be brought to an `early resolution'.

Prime Minister Tony Blair has expressed his belief that the crisis can be resolved by diplomatic means.
