KIRKWOOD Hospice has been given a £500 boost after a winner of its lottery gave her prize back.

Kate Dowling, of Holmfirth estate agents Dowling Kerr, has been a member of the Dalton hospice's 2000 Club since it started in January, 2000.

She handed her £500 back to the hospice as sponsorship towards its 007 James Bond Ball at The Bowers Mill entertainments complex in Greetland on Saturday, November 29.

The club has 1,800 members and raises about £52,000 a year towards patient care.

Membership costs £1 a week and people can pay by cash, cheque or standing order.
