ANTI-ABORTION campaigners took to the streets of Huddersfield at the weekend.

Supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) formed a human chain on Trinity Street near St Patrick’s.

They held placards, seen by hundreds of passing motorists, with the aim of bringing home the reality of abortion.

This year marks 43 years since the implementation of the Abortion Act.

The local group were one of more than 40 Pro-life Chains across the country.

Organisers said they were giving “silent witness” to unborn babies as well as women hurt by abortion.
