PRO-LIFE campaigners will stage a silent witness in Huddersfield next Saturday to mark the unborn babies killed since the 1967 Abortion Act was passed.

Supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children will form a chain on New North Road/Ring Road near the St Patrick's Centre, from 11am until 1pm.

The Pro-life Chain will be part of a national protest by the Society.

They claim that more than 6m foetuses have been killed through registered abortion in Britain since 1968.

The figure does not include abortion caused by birth control methods such as intera-uterine devices and morning-after pills.

Nor does it include the number of embryos destroyed or discarded during and after fertility treatment.
