LIQUIDATORS have been appointed for a personal injury claims firm which collapsed last year.

Several Huddersfield people were among those to lose their jobs when the Accident Group went into administration last May.

A winding-up order has now been made against the Manchester-based company.

Paul Stanley, of insolvency firm Begbies Traynor, and Michael Horrocks, from PricewaterhouseCoopers, have been appointed joint liquidators.

Mr Stanley said: "There are a number of issues we need to clarify in order to establish why the business failed.

"In particular, we will be investigating whether there is any evidence of wrongful trading before the collapse, or whether any of the dividends that were paid out before the business failed were incorrectly paid."

Mr Stanley said his team expected to interview up to 30 key people connected with the firm.

He said the investigation was expected to take three or four months.

Mr Stanley said the liquidators would also appoint a liquidation committee to represent creditors.
