A RACE night raised £2,000 for the NSPCC when enthusiastic fundraisers met at Brighouse Sports Club.

Cheryl Adamson organised the event where the 180 guests could bet on the races and take part in a raffle and auction.

Prizes included a Manchester United shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo and a signed Tottenham Hotspur shirt which raised a further £410 for the charity.

Elaine Kaye, community fundraising manager for the NSPCC, said: “It was an enjoyable evening and everyone had a great time. It just goes to show how much enjoyment can be had whilst fundraising.”

The event was in memory of a close friend of Cheryl, Daniel Walton, who sadly died in a car accident last year.
