COMMUNITY groups have until the end of the month to get a share of new Government cash.
Money is up for grabs from the Community Chest and Community Learning Chest programme.
The programme, which is managed by Voluntary Action Kirklees, distributes money from the government Neighbourhood Renewal Unit to support the contribution that community groups can make to improve their local neighbourhoods.
Projects cover a broad range of activities taking place in Kirklees.
Grants range from a few hundred pounds to £5,000 in one financial year.
Aims of the fund are:
* Encouraging greater involvement in local community activities.
* Improving the management of local community activities and organisations.
* Helping community groups to improve their local neighbourhoods.
* Helping black and minority ethnic communities to explore their history, culture and traditions.
