AN exhibition which explores the history of the Brackenhall estate, is to move from Brackenhall Community Centre, to Ashbrow Infant School.

The exhibition, called 'Our House', tells the story of Brackenhall and its people.

Over 40 families and local organisations were interviewed for the project that recorded the hopes and experiences of the community created by the families who moved from the overcrowded slums of Huddersfield into the 1000 new houses surrounded by fields and woods.

Kim Strickson, project co-ordinator at Kirklees Museums and Galleries said: "It is a story full of generosity, pride, humour and mischief, as well as apprehension and disappointment."

The exhibition reopens at the school, on Ash Meadow Close, on Tuesday.

It will be open to the public during school hours until Friday, December 15.
