CALDER Valley MP Craig Whittaker will be the special guest at an event to promote apprenticeships.
Mr Whittaker will join Calderdale Mayor Clr John Hardy at an open day tomorrow at electrical design and installations company Projex Solutions in Brighouse.
The event aims to promote apprenticeships among local businesses. Projex Solutions is an avid supporter of apprenticeships.
Managing director Jamie Ashton said apprenticeships now offered a wider scope of skills than the traditional electrical, plumbing and engineering and included areas such as sales and administration.
He said: “For many years now we have identified a range of skill shortages and truly believe apprenticeships are about planting the seeds for the future growth of our business.”
Projex Solutions provides electrical testing and electrical design work for organisations such as BASF, Linthwaite-based Thornton & Ross and Bradford-based Seabrook Crisps.
The open day, which runs from noon to 3pm, will provide a chance for local firms to learn from the firm’s experiences.
