HUDDERSFIELD campaigners fighting NHS cuts were protesting in London today.

Save Huddersfield NHS supporters were joining up with health workers, the TUC and pensioners' groups to lobby Parliament.

They also hope to highlight the "creeping privatisation" that is appearing both in the community and in hospitals.

The NHS Together bus was driving around Parliament Square and the streets of Westminster.

Campaigners hoped to meet local MPs Barry Sheerman, Kali Mountford and Mary Creagh.

GP Jackie Grunsell, ward councillor for Crosland Moor and Netherton, said: "By taking up the national issues we hope to deal with others happening locally and hopefully have some chance of saving our local services."
