PEOPLE interested in caring for the environment have been invited to the annual meeting of the Kirklees Environment Partnership.

Among the topics will be highlights of the partnership's work and progress on the Kirklees Transforming Your Space projects, which are paid for by the Big Lottery Fund. There will also be news of some of the recent energy- efficient and renewable energy projects that have taken place in Kirklees over the last 12 months.

The meeting will be between 11am and 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 27, at the Castle Hill suite, Huddersfield University.

Anne Abbott, who works for Environment Concern and chairs the partnership, said: "Our AGM is an event for sharing with others what we have achieved over the last 12 months to raise awareness and share the good practice of environmental projects across Kirklees.

"The underpinning principle which drives the partnership's work is that of the commitment of the individuals and organisations involved, using their skills, knowledge and ideas to drive projects and issues forward.

"This is integrating the environment into everyday business, focusing on the key issues of sustainable land use and climate change."

Anyone who would like to go to the meeting or would like to find out more about the partnership's work should contact its secretariat.
