COMMUNITY groups are being invited to try the facilities at a new centre.

The Jubilee Centre at Bradley Wood Scout camp, off Huddersfield Road near Brighouse, is available for use by people outside Scouting.

All profits raised from the centre are re-invested into Scouting in West Yorkshire.

Centre manager Mike Smith said: "Use of the centre is not restricted to Scouting, but extends across the community spectrum."

The centre includes training and conference rooms, meeting rooms, an activity and sports hall with a wide variety of equipment for hire, a dining room, kitchen, patio and handicraft room.

It has been used by schools for maths and technology workshops, adults with learning difficulties for arts and crafts and businesses for conferences.

It has also been used for social events such as birthdays. weddings, christenings and children's activity birthday parties.

It also offers team- building and away day events for businesses.

The centre is set in 50 acres of woodland between Brighouse and Huddersfield.
