SIX months fundraising at a Jackson Bridge pub has already raised £2,000.

And Janice and Mark Graydon (pictured front), of the White Horse pub in the village have pledged to continue to support Lydgate School at New Mill as they continue to run the pub.

They handed over the money to Martin Ord, headteacher at the school, which caters for around 80 children with complex learning difficulties and disabilities.

"We have a grandson Callum with special needs and when we arrived in the Holme Valley in January we were keen to raise money for a special school," said Janice.

The money was raised by a harvest home including guess the weight of the pumpkin and Easter raffle.

It is being used to help upgrade the school's domestic science facilities.
