TWO pub operators – Punch Taverns and Admiral Taverns – have launched campaigns to attract potential licensees.

Punch said it had 57 pubs available to let in the North East, including Yorkshire.

Recruitment manager Alyson Swann said the company aimed to attract people from a wide range of backgrounds, including catering and hospitality, small business and micro-breweries.

She said: “We have a diverse range of quality pubs, including friendly wet-led locals, traditional cask ale pubs and gastro pubs.”

Punch is promoting the opportunities by advertising in regional newspapers and on the back of Carlsberg dray trucks which deliver to the firm’s 5,000 leased and tenanted pubs UK-wide.

It has also launched an iPhone app to download and included details on its website at www.punchpubs.co.uk

Admiral, which has 1,200 pubs across the UK, many of them in West Yorkshire, is seeking tenants to run a number of community pubs.

Suzanne Smith, head of licensee recruitment and training, said: “We’re looking for inspirational individuals who want the freedom and flexibility that comes with running their own business.”

Admiral will stage an open day tomorrow at its own Quarry Gap pub in Bradford. Website: www.admiraltaverns.co.uk
