YOUNGSTERS from Meltham Moor Primary School have been busy clearing out the school's ponds.

Year Six have been hard at work cleaning up some of the ponds as part of their science and environmental lessons.

The school, at Birmingham Lane, Meltham, was given a grant last year by the Meltham Crossroads Project to build fences around the ponds to make them safer for the children.

The organisation raises money for good causes in the village.

The children are now looking forward to spotting wildlife in the ponds this year.

Pictured at work are youngsters (from the left), Abbie Wadsworth, Jacob Abbott, Cody Hartley and Gary Clough.
