BIRKBY pupils pretended they had been eaten by an elephant for a storybook CD.

The year four children at Birkby Junior School were recorded making the sounds of children who have been gobbled-up by a greedy elephant.

Theatre group Satellite Arts recorded the children’s sounds and have created a CD featuring the noises and words.

Year four teacher Ian Corrigan said: “The arts group came to do some musical workshops with the children and one of the activities was the CD.

“The children were quite excited to hear themselves on the CD. It was good for them to hear their voices and to know the work they did has been used for a purpose.”

The CD has been created by the Colne Valley Theatre group and features stories and music from around the world.

Along with the Birkby pupils, students from Colne Valley High School sang songs on the record.

The CD is now available from Satellite Arts on 01484 654 525 or by visiting
