CAMERA, lights, action!

Parents and children at Birkby Junior School got a brief taste of the film star lifestyle today.

They were in front of the cameras to take part in a new Family Life video, which will kick off the National Family Parenting Institute's conference in June.

Pupils are seen with Patrick Redmond, programme director, and cameraman Daniel Bishop.

Youngsters were asked about family issues ranging from whether or not they still ate together as a family to the difficulties - or otherwise - of being a one-parent family.

A spokeswoman from the NFPI said the video was the being used to launch the conference and give a snapshot of what people think about family life.

"It is purely used as a piece of entertainment to show people at the conference the issues that matter to parents and children," she said.

Mrs Romeen Mir, community development worker at Birkby Junior School, said the children were very excited about being filmed.
