LIMITED edition wristbands have been designed by Kirklees students.

Year seven pupils from 30 schools across Kirklees have taken part in a competition organised by West Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership and Kirklees highways and transportation service.

It aimed to teach them about road safety while designing a trendy wristband with slogan .

The winner will have their design and unique slogan produced on wristbands which will be distributed to schools who have taken part.

Philip Gwynne, head of public affairs at WYCRP, said: "Wristbands are an extremely popular collectable item among local young people."

The winner will receive the first of the wristbands and prizes and equipment for their school to the value of £300 at a VIP event next month.

Civic leaders, education chiefs, children and representatives of WYCRP will attend the event at Birkenshaw Middle School on Friday April 28.
