BRADLEY school pupils planted trees and hedgerows - and earned themselves certificates for their environmental work.

The children at Bradley Infant and Nursery on Sherwood Avenue planted a range of trees including hazel, rowan, silver birch and willow, along with hedgerows including hawthorn, blackthorn, rose and holly.

The school had bought the trees and registered with the A Tree For All campaign organised by conservation charity The Woodland Trust.

To recognise their work, the trust is to give every pupil a certificate and goodie bag. The planting was part of an Enrichment Afternoon at the school which also included Easter arts and crafts - such as making chicken puppets and rabbit ears.

The environment work was initiated by the children's learning mentor, Linda Gough.
