PUPPETEERS told tales to youngsters as part of the Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival.

Gill Bond and Andy Burton from Satellite Arts were one of the star events in this year’s week-long festival.

The duo are experienced performers, musicians and puppeteers, using their skills to entertain people of all ages.

Stuart Render, chairman of the organising committee, said: “One of the things Gill did this year in her many hats was to stage this show and I think it fits in superbly with what is on offer during this year’s festival.

“The festival is not just about the lantern parade, it is about events like this which get the community involved.

“We still have the big Moonraking Lantern parade which everyone is looking forward to this Saturday.”

Gill Bond is one of the founders of the festival, forming it 22 years ago. She also introduced the storytelling element and was delighted to feature in this year’s revised show.
