BROTHERS Jordan and Joel Barker are heartbroken after thieves stole their rabbits - and the hutch as well.

Their two rabbits, Marmalade and Restless, were taken from the back yard of the boys' home at Bryan Terrace in Longwood on Tuesday night.

The theft was discovered when mum Samantha went out to feed them on Wednesday morning.

She said: "I couldn't believe the hutch had gone at first.

"It had been hand-made by the man who sold us the rabbits a couple of years ago and was very heavy.

"It must have taken at least two people to steal it."

Now Jordan, nine, and seven-year-old Joel, both pupils at Golcar Junior, Infant and Nursery School - are pining for their missing pets.

"There were tears when I broke the news and they are missing them dreadfully," said Samantha.

Both rabbits are an orangey brown colour and are two years old.
