A TEENAGER was hurt in a race hate attack in Dewsbury.

The 17-year-old was walking close to a main road junction in Kirklees when he was attacked by a gang of Asian men.

The attack happened on New North Road at Six Lane Ends at around 9.15pm on Friday, October 6 - but details have only just been released by the police.

A 17 year old was walking along the road when he was approached by the gang of around 13 Asian men.

He was punched in the face by three of the gang members before they casually walked away.

He suffered an injury to his right eye and had a tooth crown knocked out.

All the gang members wore hooded tops.

A police spokesman said: "This was an unprovoked attack."
