A HUDDERSFIELD student has been booted out of the reality TV show Cruel Holiday.

Rachel Moon, 18, from Newsome, was voted out by viewers, watching the cable TV show on the Trouble channel, hosted by former Pop Idol contestant Hayley Evetts.

Rachel was one of 10 contestants chosen to spend four weeks together in a holiday setting, where they take on tough challenges in a bid to win £10,000.

Two people are voted out each week.

Rachel had gone into the camp with all the energy and brash opinions of a true northern girl.

On the first day, Rachel was the first to introduce herself to everyone.

Taking to the tasks like a duck to water, Rachel was often on the winning team, racking up the points and helping out her team through a variety of challenges.

She was also one of the first to take up the viewer punishment and was led out to the garden - to the awaiting bath full of puréed beetroot. After a few minutes of bathing in the blood-red liquid, Rachel didn't need to wear any more rouge for the rest of her time at Camp Cruel.

Unlike some of the others, Rachel never really got it on with any of the boys, although she did make close friendships with them all.

One of the worst challenges was to have crabs and lobsters crawling all over their backs.

The rest of the gang seemed to take it quite well, but Rachel showed her fear of crustacea and screamed the house down.

A spokesman for the show said: "At the end of the day the public voted who they wanted to stay in - and this week it wasn't Rachel.

Rachel said "It's been emotional. I enjoyed the show and it was hard saying goodbye to friends."

Among the people she met were the Cheeky Girls pop group, who made a guest appearance.
