AN Asian radio station has started temporary broadcasting in Huddersfield.

Paigham, meaning The Message, broadcasts from a house in Trinity Street.

It is on the air for the third season on 107.2FM.

Nisar Smiler, of Springwood Avenue, Springwood, a former presenter on Sunrise Radio, Bradford, and other Asian stations, is leading the project.

About 40 volunteers are involved in the station, which this summer is being held in memory of the local businessman Khadim Hussain, of Lockwood, who died last year.

The station will run for a month and will feature discussions, interviews and current affairs.
