JOHN Longson’s reign as Car Park Catchphrase champion is over.
The Longwood man’s run ended after 13 days when he was beaten yesterday on Chris Moyles’ Radio One show.
The new man in the hot seat is student Olly, from Bracknell.
John, a civil engineer, was beaten to the horn to answer the questions about the catchphrase “cutting off her nose to spite her face”.
And he’d even taken along his dog Toffee for good luck yesterday.
The show, which has eight million listeners, runs from Monday to Thursday at 9.45am. To win the game, contestants listen to a story and have to guess the popular catchphrase it describes.
Contestants take part while sitting in their cars, in John’s case a Vauxhall Corsa, and sound the horn when they think they know the answer.
John’s stint as champion was just five days short of the record of 18.
John said: “It has made each day enjoyable”.
