RAIDERS who burst into a house grabbed a haul worth more than £15,000.
The three masked intruders tied up a 19-year-old woman after they forced their way into the house on Cow Heys, Dalton, at 5.45am on Wednesday.
The victim's husband had just gone to work.
A man knocked at the door and said her husband had been in an accident. When she opened the door the gang burst in.
She was tied up and the thieves demanded jewellery and cash before they searched the house.
When two of the intruders went upstairs she managed to escape and ran to a neighbour's.
The gang fled with jewellery including ear-rings, necklaces and watches. The haul also included money, a digital camcorder and two hi-fi systems.
All the gang wore stocking masks. One is Asian and the other two are African- Caribbeans.
