RAIL passengers have been offered a trip back in time.
The Green Party has organised a special heritage train between Brighouse and Edinburgh next month.
Green Party spokesman Clive Lord said: “Passengers will have a rare chance to travel in a locomotive-hauled train with coaches built in the 1950s and 1960s.
“For many it will bring back fond memories of British Rail’s Merrymaker Tours which provided great days out in the 1970s.”
On August 23 the train will leave Brighouse, taking in sites like Durham Cathedral and the Angel of the North, before arriving for a four-hour stop in Edinburgh during the city’s festival. Tickets cost £45.
