CHRISTMAS fun came early for Rainbow Guides in Huddersfield.

Forty Rainbows from the Huddersfield Ramsden Division's East District met for a fun-filled afternoon of activities to start preparing for Christmas early.

The Rainbow Romp was held at Moldgreen United Reformed Church and involved decorating buns, making Father Christmas faces and doing table decorations and Christmas mobiles.

It was rounded off by singing.

The girls, aged from five to seven, came from units in Almondbury, Lascelles Hall, Kirkheaton, Dalton, Waterloo and Moldgreen.

The event was supported by members of the Trefoil Guild, Guiders who no longer run units but still want to be part of the movement. Jean Beverley, the District Commissioner for Girlguiding in the Huddersfield East District, said: "I always enjoy attending these events and the girls had a wonderful time."
