A RALLYING cry has gone out to the mums of Huddersfield – let’s do a charity fundraiser for the whole town to see!

New mums Rebecca Rooke and Tanya Stagg want as many mums, dads and babies in prams to take part in the sponsored event to raise cash for Children In Need.

They want to do a sponsored walk through Huddersfield town centre called Push A Pram For Pudsey.

Rebecca, of Golcar, had the idea while feeding five-and-a-half-week-old Henry in the early hours of the morning.

She said: “I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to get as many mums as possible pushing their prams through the streets of Huddersfield and raising money for Pudsey at the same time?”

Rebecca and Tanya met at a pregnancy pilates class at Pure Body Solutions in Armitage Bridge, which is owned by Tanya’s husband Nigel.

The couple have a 19-week-old son Finley.

The friends hope to obtain a licence from Kirklees Council which will allow them to do a charity bucket collection en route.

The event takes place on Children In Need Day – Friday November 14.

Mums, babies, walkers and their prams are asked to meet at the National Children’s Centre Cafe, Brian Jackson House, New North Parade, between 10 and 10.30am.
