RAM raiders failed in their bid to steal from a motorcycle shop.
They used a stolen Ford Escort car to try to smash their way into D H Wadsworth and Sons on Barnsley Road, Flockton.
But the bid failed and the car was abandoned nearby.
The attack happened at 5.20am last Friday and police have appealed for witnesses.
A police spokesman said: "A flatback Ford Transit van with a wheelbarrow on the back was seen in the area. We need the driver to come forward to be ruled out of the inquiry."
