AN illegal immigrant is facing jail and deportation after he admitted trying to rape a 14-year-old girl in a Huddersfield cemetery.
The offence, which involves a girl who cannot be identified for legal reasons, happened in Edgerton Cemetery last July 18.
O'Neill Jermaine Clarke, 29, of Brooks Buildings, Marsh, pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
His barrister, Mr Stephen Wood, admitted that Clarke was an illegal immigrant.
But he said he was of previously good character.
Mr Wood said Clarke had come into the country in November, 2001, via Bristol.
He had now been served with deportation papers for his return to Jamaica.
Mr Wood said he knew Clarke would be jailed and asked Judge Rodney Grant to consider dealing with Clarke yesterday.
But Judge Grant said he wanted a report on Clarke, to deal with the issue of any risk he posed to young girls.
Clarke was remanded in custody.
He is expected to be sentenced in about three weeks.
