A PROBLEM drinker was hauled before magistrates after ignoring an order to stay out of Huddersfield.

Kevin Wilson, of Brownroyd Avenue, Rawthorpe, admitted breaching his anti-social behaviour order yesterday.

The 29-year-old was one of 10 street drinkers banned from entering the town centre late last year.

Kirklees Council applied for the orders after a series of complaints by businesses and residents.

St Peter’s Gardens was identified as one of the main trouble spots.

But Wilson breached the order on March 28 when he was found by police in the town.

Alex Bosman, prosecuting, said: “The Asbo prevented him from entering certain areas in Huddersfield except for prearranged appointments.

“On the day he was in the exclusion zone in drink.”

Magistrates were told Wilson previously breached the order on January 25.

The bench gave Wilson a community order for nine months with an alcohol treatment programme.

They also ordered him to pay £85 towards court costs.
