THE search is on for Huddersfield people who go the extra mile to help others.

The seventh annual Recognition Express Awards aims to reward loyalty hard work and commitment by people in organisations ranging from companies to schools and charities.

Anyone could be a winner – whether they’re the tea lady, the finance director or a volunteer in a charity shop.

The awards were launched in Yorkshire by Carol Caton, owner of Newsome-based promotional products firm Recognition Express West Yorkshire.

She stressed the importance of recognising hard-working employees.

Carol warned employers that retaining their best staff would be one of the biggest challenges over the coming months as business confidence improved.

She said: “Recognising the efforts of employees is free – and a recent survey carried out by Recognition Express showed that more than 95% of people agreed that feeling recognised was a strong motivator to stay in their current job.”

For nomination forms, go to www.recognition-express.com/recognitionawards or call 01934 838559.

The deadline for entries is August 30. Judging will take place in September after which the regional and national winners will be announced.

Regional winners will get a plaque and vouchers. There will also be £200 worth of promotional items for the organisations which nominated them.
