A WOMAN killed in a crash tragedy in Kirkburton comes from Sheffield.
The 36-year-old died when her red Vauxhall Astra was in a head-on smash with a lorry on Penistone Road in Kirkburton just after 8am yesterday.
Relatives have now been informed of her death and are travelling to Huddersfield to formally identify her.
The identification will take place at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary tomorrow and she is expected to be named by Thursday.
She was travelling from her flat in Sheffield to work in Huddersfield when the accident happened.
The lorry driver, a 56-year- old man from Bacup in Lancashire, suffered a broken vertebra and a broken shoulder.
He was in a stable condition at HRI today.
The road was sealed off for several hours while police accident investigation experts worked at the scene.
Traffic was diverted through Kirkburton.
