A GRIEVING mother has asked Huddersfield people to think of the families of those killed in car crashes.

Jill Kynaston was speaking in the run-up to National Road Victim Month in August.

The Grange Moor woman lost her son last June 10.

A car was in collision with Craig Marples as he crossed Leeds Road in Huddersfield.

The father-of-three died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary later that day.

Craig, 34, who lived at Northorpe Lane, Mirfield, had worked at freight forwarding firm MC3 Logistics in Bradford for more than five years.

Jill said: “I think people need to be aware how road deaths effect family life. It would have been Craig’s 36th birthday on July 11 - it was an emotional day for me. I try to be positive and remember his happy smiling face but then I think of all the things that he’s missing.”

Jill is a supporter of Road Peace, which aims to cut the number of fatal traffic accidents.

The pressure group is holding a month of events to raise awareness of the issue, including memorial services in Manchester and Liverpool.
