WORKERS will try to repair two Huddersfield landmarks on Monday.

Lindley Clock Tower has been broken for nearly a week.

The hands on the clock have been stuck at 8.45pm for several days.

The fountains at St George’s Square have also been out of action.

The jets – which were part of the £5m revamp of the square – have been broken since last week.

A Kirklees spokesman said yesterday: “Final repairs are due to take place at St George’s Square on Monday.

“An engineer from Smith of Derby is due to visit Lindley Clock on Monday, which is the first appointment they had available after we informed them about the fault”.
