A GOLCAR road is to be resurfaced again – because the work is not good enough.

Council officials have ordered contractors to carry out more repairs on Brook Lane, because the new surface is breaking up.

The original work was done in February and will be redone during October half term.

A council spokesman said: “The replaced surface is not up to specification and is to be replaced at no cost to Kirklees Council.”

The road will need to be closed on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26.

A diversion will run along Radcliffe Road into Slaithwaite, then via Manchester Road and Morley Lane into Milnsbridge, taking Scar Lane and James Street back to Brook Lane and vice versa. The alternative route will be signed and drivers are asked to leave extra time for their journey.
